Following three determined students and their allies, the film uncovers the high-stakes battles playing out in public protests, heated school board meetings, and behind closed doors. As these young activists rise to the national stage, Banned Together exposes the shadowy forces driving the wave of book bans across the country.
After the screening, stay for a compelling panel discussion moderated by Josh Malkin, Advocacy Director of the ACLU of South Carolina. The panel will feature Midlands-based educators, students, and passionate book lovers, exploring the impact of political attacks on the freedom to read in our state and local communities.
