The fight to make our streets safer

Join us May 6 as Cola Town Bike Collective hosts a free community screening of The Street Project The Nick. The documentary tells the story of how cities around the world are rethinking their streets to make them safer and more welcoming for everyone, especially people walking, biking, or using wheelchairs.

After the film, the audience is invited to stay for a panel discussion with local advocates, government staff, and city leaders who are working to improve safety and livability here in the Midlands. This event is free, but you must register below to save a seat.

Cola Town Bike Collective is a nonprofit based in Columbia that provides bikes and repair services to people who rely on them to get to work, appointments, and everyday essentials. Over the past decade, CTBC has given away more than 1,250 bikes, completed thousands of free repairs, and helped lead community efforts to push for better bike lanes, safer crossings, and infrastructure that works for people. The organization believes that transportation should be reliable, affordable, and safe – no matter how you get around.

This screening is made possible through funding from the Central Midlands Council of Governments, via an assistance agreement from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
