Introducing Tiffany Adams: The Nick’s New Board President

We’re thrilled to announce that Tiffany Adams has been elected as the new President of The Nickelodeon Theater’s Board of Directors. A dedicated advocate, accomplished leader, and passionate member of The Nick’s community, Tiffany is poised to guide us into an exciting new chapter.

A Proven Leader in Advocacy and Community Engagement

Tiffany brings a wealth of experience to her role as Board President. Previously serving as The Nick’s Board Secretary and Chair of the Programming Committee, she has been instrumental in shaping the theater’s diverse and inclusive programming. Tiffany’s broader leadership includes founding Adams Family Wellness, LLC, advocating for equality through her work with organizations like SC Black Pride and SC Equality, and being recognized by GLAAD as “One of 6 South Carolinians Accelerating Acceptance for LGBT People.”

Her dedication to education and advocacy is exemplified by her “Fact vs Fiction” workshop, which debunks misconceptions about homosexuality in scripture, and by her feature in GLAAD’s short documentary, State of Change – South Carolina.

“I am honored and excited to step into the role of Board President at The Nick during this pivotal moment of growth and opportunity,” said Adams.  “Leading one of Columbia’s most diverse and uniquely talented Boards of Directors is a privilege I hold with deep gratitude and unwavering commitment.”

A Vision for The Nick’s Future

As The Nick enters a phase of strategic planning, Tiffany’s leadership skills will be vital in bringing people together and fostering collaboration among board members, staff, and community stakeholders. Her deep ties to advocacy and her ability to unite diverse voices make her uniquely qualified to lead The Nick into its next chapter.

“The next phase for The Nick is all about strategic planning,” says Sumner Bender, Executive Director. “We have an excellent board, and the past two years of recruitment have been fantastic. Tiffany’s qualifications and her ability to bring people together will be instrumental as we navigate this new strategic process.”

Under Tiffany’s leadership, The Nick will continue to grow as a hub for diverse, thought-provoking cinema and community engagement. Her vision, passion, and expertise will ensure that the theater remains a vital part of Columbia’s cultural fabric for years to come.
