The Nickelodeon Theater is proud to announce the addition of Chelsey Malloy as its new Membership & Development Manager. Malloy will lead efforts to grow The Nick’s membership program, cultivate donor relationships, and strengthen community support for the theater’s mission to champion independent film and enrich the cultural life of the Midlands.
Originally from Bluffton, SC, Malloy brings over a decade of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and community development. Most recently, she served as Director of Individual Philanthropy at United Way of the Midlands, where she led leadership giving strategies and stewarded a portfolio of major donors. Her previous roles include development leadership at the University of South Carolina’s School of Law and School of Education, where she consistently exceeded fundraising goals and spearheaded successful campaigns.
Malloy’s professional background is complemented by her passion for connecting with people and building meaningful community ties, qualities that align perfectly with The Nick’s mission. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of membership recruitment and retention, manage donor communications, and work closely with The Nick’s leadership to expand fundraising initiatives.
“I’m excited to join The Nick team and connect with the members and supporters who make this theater so special,” said Malloy. “The Nick is such a unique part of Columbia’s cultural landscape, and I look forward to helping it thrive for years to come.”
Outside of work, Malloy enjoys exploring Columbia’s food scene, traveling with her husband and one-year-old son, Marshall, and spending time with their doodle, Shiloh.
