Program Description

Come Around My Way: A Youth Media project, a partnership with C.A. Johnson High School – seeks to use media literacy skills and video production techniques to empower students in their high school careers to produce socially engaging documentaries that deepen their understanding of themselves and broaden their knowledge of their respective neighborhoods.

Student films will be screened at The Nickelodeon Theatre where students will present their work and participate in a post-film discussion.

Education faculty as well as guest speakers will provide a social, historical, cultural, and aesthetic context for student films, media literacy analysis and video production training. Classes will be held after-school at C.A. Johnson High School twice a week for 2-hour sessions. This program spans 36 weeks. Check out a recap of our 2014-15 Program below.
