Megan Pinckney talks Funny Face

Apr 18, 2018 by Contributing Writer on The Nickelodeon Blog

We are so happy that Megan Pinckney, local fashion icon, writer, and lifestyle blogger at Shades of Pinck, made time to sample French wine and share her thoughts on FUNNY FACE, the Audrey Hepburn classic screening today and tomorrow at the Nick. Check out screening times here.

Audrey Hepburn’s Funny Face is the ultimate fashion girl movie! Between the romantic setting of a 1950s Paris and all of the (now vintage) Givenchy designs worn throughout, it is literally like watching a vintage Vogue magazine come to life.  It’s your typical story of boy meets girl, boy falls in love with her beauty and then whisks her away to Paris to inevitably become one of the fashion industry’s top models.

Ok, so maybe that story isn’t so typical, but whenever I watch this film I can’t help but fantasize about something so fabulous happening to me. I first saw it back in 2014 during a screening at The Nick and immediately fell in love. Its one of those feel-good classics that not only transcends time but empowers you to be feminine, take risks and most importantly, to be uniquely yourself.

This film pairs best with a glass of The Nick’s Charles Gonnet Chignin!
