Josie and the Pussycats

Director: Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont

Before Riverdale aired on CW, cult fans coveted this jewel-toned gem.  A small-town girl band makes it big, only to discover the nefarious, corporate machinations of the music industry. Featuring performances from indie darlings Rosario Dawson and Parker Posey, and a punk-pop soundtrack so catchy it warranted a vinyl release in 2017, Josie is an energetic rejection of consumerism and celebration of female friendship.
